Oil & Gas
Services.
The production and use of oil and gas underpins modern economies and lifestyles, and will continue to do so for decades to come. It provides cheap and reliable energy to billions across the globe and has lifted many communities out of poverty. It has contributed extensively to today’s society.
However, with the associated production of CO2 contributing to climate change, methods need to be applied to reduce our carbon footprint and meet a desired net carbon neutral future and avoid dangerous levels of global warming.
Carbon capture and storage, (CCS), is a proven method for removing CO2 from the use of fossil fuel and biomass, with CCS locking away the CO2, and removing it from the atmosphere, so that it cannot influence the climate.
Another product, helping to reduce our carbon footprint, and providing itself as an alternative energy source, is Hydrogen. As the production of Hydrogen ramps up, a solution to the storage of this gas will be required. For hydrogen storage at a scale of hundreds of tonnes or more, underground gas storage, (UGS), is the leading option.
Modelling Matters offers the following subsurface modelling services to assist with projects across these three areas of oil and gas, CCS and UGS:
